About the Author, Don Young

Donald YoungDon Young has bought, built, sold, and owned millions of dollars worth of property. His specialty has become buying properties, adding on to those properties, and selling them for large profits-a niche he has created for himself that has earned him not only an excellent reputation, but a nice income as well. Don realized as a framer (pounding nails for a living) that the real money in construction was being able to get a percentage of what was being built. He knew that he could not make money when he had to spend time bidding on work. Time was wasted, and the return was only about 30 percent of the jobs.

For many years, Don located the properties by driving the streets, designing and constructing the buildings, and then managing them himself. He became one of the busiest small contractor/builders in the Los Angeles area during the recession of the early nineties (1989-1994). This was the spring board from which he started his now successful business. Don holds his B-General Contracting License (working on track homes, custom homes, condominiums, town homes, commercial buildings, and repairing earthquake damaged structures) and his A-General Engineering License (construction of waste water treat¬ment plants, sewer lines, and street improvements) and has been in the construction field for over 25 years. He has been hired by many Los Angeles and Orange County agencies as well as private firms as a consultant, construction manager, and a contractor.

Don is considered one of the best in the construction field by many leaders in the community not only because of his skill as a contractor/builder, but because of his willingness to help others. He also holds himself to the highest standards in the field, and has been applauded for this by many business people. Based on this knowledge and integrity coupled with his incredible success, he was encouraged by many friends, coworkers, and clients to write down what he had already shared with many people-his successful experience in building millions of dollars worth of property.
